1. Purpose of this notice
This notice describes how Artificial Grass SA processes personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). POPIA establishes minimum conditions for the lawful processing of personal information by public and private bodies.
2. Categories of personal information
Depending on the enquiry or project, information may include identity and contact details, project addresses, property or site information, correspondence, photographs, quotation and contract information, invoices, payment records and service history.
3. Reasons for processing
- To take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To perform a quotation, installation or service agreement.
- To comply with legal obligations.
- To pursue legitimate business interests that do not unjustifiably infringe privacy.
- To process information with consent where consent is appropriate.
4. Recipients and operators
Information may be provided to authorised staff, installation teams, suppliers, manufacturers, hosting and communication providers, accountants, advisers, insurers or authorities where this is necessary and lawful. Service providers acting as operators are expected to protect information appropriately.
5. Cross-border services
Services such as email, cloud hosting, social media or WhatsApp may process information outside South Africa. Where relevant, Artificial Grass SA will use appropriate contractual, consent-based or other lawful safeguards.
6. Data subject rights
Subject to POPIA, you may request confirmation of whether information is held, access or correction, deletion where lawful, objection to processing, or restriction in appropriate circumstances. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator if you believe personal information has been processed unlawfully.
7. Security compromises
Reasonable safeguards are used to protect personal information. Where a reportable security compromise occurs, affected people and the Information Regulator will be notified as required by law.
